Diversity and Inclusion Specialist
Job description
Job Purpose: The Diversity & Inclusion Specialist position is responsible for the identification, coordination and implementation of diversity, inclusion, cultural competency, social responsibility strategies and initiatives in partnership with the Senior Director of Diversity and Cultural Competence. This includes providing tactical support of diversity training, MCFI Diversity Team and employee resource groups, and developing project plans, communication and marketing material and facilitate meetings for social responsibility stakeholders.

Reports To: Senior Director of Diversity and Cultural Competence
Essential Job Functions:

1. Ensure prioritization of projects and initiatives with the D & I office’s overall strategic objectives.
2. Support and oversight of CFI’s Diversity Team and ERG’s with developing their infrastructure and implementing their event planning and programs.
3. Improve outreach and engagement to build relationships with under-represented communities and establish trust and understanding.
4. Develop, coordinate, and implement public presentations and community conversations about diversity issues.
5. Serve as a resource for internal and external issues relating to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
6. Establish a knowledge base of best practices and available resources for diversity inclusion and cultural competence.
7. Build relationships with diverse communities to increase awareness of CFI’s policies, programs, services, activities, and volunteer opportunities.
8. Identify and bring forward diversity inclusion and equity matters of concern from business units for consideration in the development of diversity and inclusion education.
9. Identify benchmarks and standards to measure the impact of community social responsibility projects and strategies in alignment with targeted business objectives
10. Research and identify social issues that impact the community we serve
11. Creates internal and external reports
12. Collaborate in supporting community engagement activities with the Senior Director of Diversity and Cultural Competence
Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure and Credentials: (Where appropriate, education and/or experience may be substituted)
Minimum Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Communications, Nonprofit Administration, Marketing, or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Minimum Required Experience: Strong ability to execute projects by predetermined deadlines while maintaining excellent relationships with key stakeholders
High learning agility, able to manage multiple responsibilities within a dynamic, agile, workforce and community environment
Ability to adapt and adjust approach based on community, business and Human Resource changing environments
Required License – Certification – Registration:
Issued By Governing Body (if applicable):
Travel outside of office: 10-25% travel in the communities we serve
Required Valid Driver’s License: Valid Wisconsin driver’s license
Required Auto Insurance: vehicle liability insurance in accordance with Agency policy
