Dogtopia is an award-winning provider of the highest quality dog care in the nation. Dogtopia of Frederick, is now interviewing for part time Canine Coaches.

Dogtopia of Frederick is conveniently located in the Westview South Shopping Center off Buckeystown Pike (Rt 85), just a short drive from interstates 270 and 70.

No experience? No worries! We can teach you how to speak "dog"! If you do not have a GENUINE love of dogs, this is not the place for you. We are seeking people who are mature enough to understand and accept the responsibility of caring for other people's "children". Your job will entail supervising active, playful dogs all day! You will be ensuring a safe pack environment, the happiness of the dogs, and a very clean daycare facility. This is a high energy, active position and you will get dirty, but it's also very rewarding for those who LOVE working with dogs!

Responsibilities

• Maintaining a clean playroom (cleaning after the dogs during open play, deep cleaning the playroom to ensure safety from bacteria and virus and assisting with the facility cleaning in general). Cleaning is about 50% of the job, as we expect only the cleanest environment for our clients.
• Maintaining a safe playroom by actively communicating with the dogs, correcting too-rowdy behaviors and managing communications about the dogs in your care with your Shift Leader. Learning about dog communications and behaviors through our proprietary reward-based, positive training methodologies as well as completing our Dogtopia Canine Coach online courses that have been approved by both the CCPDT and IAABC professional dog training organizations and count toward professional dog training certification!
• Treating all of our Dog and Human clients with respect and care.
• Interacting with the Dogs and continually monitoring the environment while moving around the play room.
• Being Attentive to the individual nature and needs of the Dogs in your care.
• Feeding and Logging meals for the Dogs in your care.
• Logging activities for the Dogs in your care.
• Providing basic spa services for Dogs.

Qualified applicants will have the following minimum requirements:

• Commitment to completing Canine Coach training (Canine Coach online courses are required).
• Ability to work on your feet for 5-7 hrs.
• No fear of being in a playroom with at least 20 dogs of any size or breed.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs with no restrictions.
• Ability to handle dogs (with love!) up to 150 lbs.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Energetic and Enthusiastic Attitude!
• Maintain a patient and caring attitude with lots of "kids" running around
• Ability to work as part of a team and have strong interpersonal skills.
• Dogtopia of Frederick is open from 6:30am to 7:30pm M-F, 9-5 on Saturdays and 10-2 on Saturdays. You need to be available to start work as early as 5:00am, or stay until 10pm, depending on your shift assignment. Flexible availability and able to work weekends as required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Reliable Transportation.

Physical Job Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Must be able to stand, stoop, squat frequently

Position requires standing and walking throughout shift

Work environment could be noisy or loud at times
