Early Childhood Instructional Coach

Job Description:
Works with Early Childhood Education (ECE) staff to promote a high quality educational program that fosters achievement in students. Coaches classroom teachers on a variety of teaching strategies, classroom environment and to ensure compliance to professional ethical standards. Collaborates with stakeholders to address student situations. Adheres to all Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) and Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Rules and Regulations for part-day Preschool Programs.

Requirements:

  • Must have, or willing to obtain, a PDIS account and apply for a Credential in the system within 30 days of employment.

  • Must have or be willing to obtain a Level 4 or higher Credential 2.0 through Professional Development Information System (PDIS).

Preferred:

  • Basic Level Training Credential through PDIS
  • Reflective Supervision Training through CDHS

ESSENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • Environment that may include potential volatile outbursts

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasional lifting five (5) to ten (10) pounds
  • Frequent sitting, including on the ground or low chairs
  • Occasional bending, squatting, or standing

Position Specific Information (if Applicable):
If you do not possess a coaching credential it must be obtained as soon as you are able to get in the next available session.

Responsibilities:
Coach classroom teachers on implementation of responsibilities around curriculum planning, child development, assessment and learning activities
Coach classroom teachers on implementation of responsibilities around curriculum planning, child development, assessment and learning activities
Coach classroom teachers in implementation of Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scales (ECERS) and Multi Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
Ensure compliance to the professional ethical guidelines developed by National Association for the Education of Young Children
Serve as an Early Childhood Education trainer for staff development as needed
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested

Certifications:
CPR - Red Cross, FEMA Certification - FEMA, Level 1 Coaching Credential - International Coaching Federation, Teacher License - Early Childhood Education - Colorado Department of Education, Universal Precautions Certification - Co Dept of Human Services/OSHA

Education:
Associate's Degree: Early Childhood Education, Bachelor's Degree: Early Childhood Education

Skills:
Advanced understanding of the Rules and Regulations set by Colorado Department of Human Services and the Colorado Department of Education, Collaborative team player, Effective oral and written communication skills., Maintains a generally positive attitude., Observes all District policies and procedures., Strong organizational and time management skills, Verbal and written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions

Full Salary Range:
$20.19 USD - $31.59 USD Hourly
  • All salary amounts listed above are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE.
