The Division of Child Development and Early Education (DCDEE) implements quality standards for child care and increases access to families and their children across North Carolina. NCGS 110-85 requires that the State protect children in child care facilities by ensuring that these facilities provide a physically safe and healthy environment where the developmental needs of the children are met and where these children are cared for by qualified persons of good moral character.

The Early Educator Intake Coordinator provides intake and enrollment support for teachers to determine licensure eligibility by collaborating with: EES BK Licensure Specialists, Educator Preparation Programs (EPP), NCDPI Licensure Section, NCDPI Nash Regional Alternative Licensing Center, EES Offices at UNC-Charlotte and East Carolina University and other grant initiatives as assigned. This position also requires excellent attention to detail, accurate verbal and written abilities and timely processing of data entry related to intake, enrollment, and other required actions.

  • Technical knowledge and use of multiple databases to carry out duties (e.g., NC Department of Public Instruction’s Human Resource Management System (HRMS), LEA License & Salary Info System (LicSal), NC Educator Effectiveness System/Home Base (NCEES), NCDPI Online Licensure System, Scribbles, WORKS, NC Pre-K PLAN, etc.).
  • Experience in comprising operational reports and interpreting data.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
