Job Title : Mechanical Design Engineer

Locations : White plains, NY

Job Type : Full Time/Direct Hire/Onsite

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Design electronic circuits for aviation computers and supporting systems such as test equipment and harnesses.
• Provide review, mentorship, and time management for a team of 3 to 4 electrical engineers across multiple programs.
• Create Statements of Work for contracted services such as board layout and manage the contractor throughout the project.
• Evaluate design choices to meet product functional requirements, environmental compatibility, and manufacturing lifecycle, creating reports and other documentation supporting design choices Create test procedures and reports for electronic hardware.
• Provide engineering insight to Program Management and Sales and Marketing for new business proposals and customer support.
• Supporting manufacturing and repair departments for legacy products.
• Performs other related duties as assigned. -Always Include.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• 5 years+ experience with comparable responsibilities.
• Digital design in the hundreds of MHz with ARM Cortex or similar scale microcontrollers.
• Basic analog computer design.
• Experience with design for Electro-Magnetic Compatibility for susceptibility and emissions.

Experience in the following topics is desirable but not required:

• Schematic Capture and PCB layout with Altium Designer.
• Designing safety critical electrical systems.
• Complying with RTCA DO-160G, MIL-STD-810H, MIL-STD-704F, MIL-STD-461G, and similar qualification standards.
• Bare-metal embedded C to support software engineers in driver development.
• Python, Excel, and similar analysis tools.
• Subversion and similar version control tools.

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited school.
