Electronics Technician II - Union Position (NRTF-Dixon)

Position Overview
This Electronics Technician provides on-site support at the Naval Radio Telecommunications Facility (NRTF) located in Dixon, California, servicing and maintaining a variety of communications/electronics equipment used to provide communications support to U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force missions. This is a Union position.
Primary Responsibilities
Conduct orientation and technical instruction (OJT) for lower-level technicians on the operation, maintenance, testing and troubleshooting of station communications/electronics equipment.
Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on communications/electronic equipment. Must apply comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems that can typically be solved by properly evaluating and interpreting manufacturer’s manuals or similar technical documents. Must be capable of operating, tuning, testing, aligning, inspecting, patching and configuring all communications equipment as necessary to meet operational requirements.
Utilizing state-of-the-art techniques and test equipment, must perform all quality control tests and performance monitoring of equipment/systems. Test requirements include: intermodulation, distortion, carrier suppression, distortion and level measurements, VSWR, power, frequency, modulation rates, and such other tests or measurements necessary to ensure that all equipment is operated at required performance levels.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicant shall be certified IAW DOD 8570.01 OF 15 August 2004 and SECNAVINST 1543.2 of 30 November 2012, upon contract award or date of hire. Cyber Security Work Force Level 1 certification is required prior to on boarding.
Preferred Qualifications
Two (2) years general experience and two (2) years specialized experience in diagnosing, isolating, and correcting malfunctions, and performing organizational level maintenance on communications/electronic equipment, including, but not limited to: AN/FRT 72 and HFGCS equipment, LBUCS or two (2) years specialized experience in operation and maintenance of the noted equipment at a military or commercial transmitter site.
Education/Experience
Successful completion of an accredited college, junior college or technical school that included courses in electronics, or communication technology or equivalent, and that provided the skills and knowledge necessary to operate and maintain high power transmitters, transceivers, receivers and microwave equipment.
Special experience in excess for four (4) years may be substituted for educational requirements and formal course training.
