SOW Paragraph C.9.9, Engineering Technician IV (Electrical) - Electro-Hydraulic (Steering, Boat Davits, Elevators, Hoists & similar Control & Electric Drive Systems on HP Hydraulic Equipment)
GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Qualified candidates must have a minimum of three (3) years “journeyman level” experience within the last five (5) years in each area (1) through (4) below, unless otherwise specified.
(1) Independently or leading a team of technicians troubleshooting, repairing or testing U.S. Navy ship structural, mechanical or electrical equipment/systems as described in Specific Experience.
(2) Independently or leading a team accomplishing formal material condition assessments (Ex. TSRA, ICMP, INSURV or similar) of U.S. Navy ship’s systems as described in Specific Experience.
(3) Communicating the findings of the above troubleshooting/assessments with official reports.
(4) Use of the following, or similar, workload databases: Microsoft Office products, Navy Maintenance Database (NMD), minimum of read access rights on Electronic Departure From Specifications (eDFS), Navy Ship’s Engineering Drawing Repository (NSEDR) and TAAS-Info. There is no minimum time duration for experience with these programs.
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE:
The experience required is a combination of mechanical and electrical disciplines, but is primarily electrical in nature.
(a) Assessment and oversight of repairs of the electrical components of the following U.S. Navy shipboard electro-hydraulic equipment: steering systems, boat davits, elevators and hoists, or similar control and electric drive systems on high pressure hydraulic equipment.
(b) Interpreting naval engineering drawings and electrical diagrams.
Education/Certification Requirements:
Must have, or be eligible to receive and maintain a current U.S. Passport. If not in possession of a current U.S. passport, must show evidence of having applied for a U.S. passport at the time of hiring.
Must be vaccinated for COVID-19 in accordance with CDC guidelines.
