The Challenge
We're looking for a District Engineering Technician Specialist II to join our District 2 team.

In this role, you will:

• Perform technical reviews and coordinate recommended approvals of driveway permit applications and utility encroachment requests.
• Review and approve subdivision design standards and recommend road additions and deletions.
• Review surplus right-of-way requests and prepare review packages for further consideration.
• Review and prepare secondary road postings.
• Supervise construction for small projects and secondary road construction projects by means of on-call contracts.
• Assist in oversight of Locally Administered Projects.
• Assist in project administration for resurfacing and other Division or Centrally let projects.
• Organize and prepare annual resurfacing estimates and packages for letting and coordinate with other units as needed.

What You Bring

• Computer experience in Microsoft Office and drafting applications.
• Experience applying engineering concepts to solve complex problems.
• Experience reading and interpreting construction plans, contract provisions, specifications, and procedures.
• Knowledge of math functions, such as algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Note taking experience and experience collecting field data.
• Experience preparing routine reports.

Education & Experience

• Associate's degree in Engineering Technology or Survey Technology, and
• 7+ years of progressive technician experience; or
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.
