Provides clerical and administrative support to the Office of Financial Aid, primarily, but not limited to, financial aid verification, Pell grant administration, transfer monitoring, ISIR processing, special circumstance processing, and communication management.
- Exceptional level of customer service with a diverse population; ability to present ideas, policies and regulations clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to gather and analyze data, ability to understand basic accounting functions; ability to use multiple software programs (SIS, Outlook, Office, COD, NSLDS, FAA Access to CPS online, CampusLogic Student Forms, etc.)
- Responsible for administration of Federal Pell and TEACH grant programs, including the Second Chance Pell program – reconcile awarded and disbursed aid, submit ISIR and/or award or disbursement corrections to COD, monitor Multiple Record Reporting, review LEU and make necessary adjustments, manage TEACH grant applications, awards, disbursements and reconciliation.
- Responsible for managing the scholarship program for the Mansfield campus, coordinating with Admissions, advancement, accounting, individual departments including athletics, the Mansfield Foundation and others to ensure accurate and timely awarding, reporting, disbursement, and reconciliation of scholarship dollars. Maintain any appropriate technologies associated with the scholarship awarding process. Communicate with students regarding scholarship process and awards.
- Assists in evaluation of applicant financial statements – federal income tax returns, W2 wage statements, social security forms, bank records, and other supporting documents for the purpose of completing the FAFSA and federal verification.
- Assists with coverage for phone and front office to deliver accurate information regarding financial aid inquiries from students, parents, and supporters.
- Keeps current with pertinent federal, state, and institutional regulations and guidelines surrounding the administration of student aid programs.
- Assists with special projects as necessary to ensure timely and efficient delivery of financial aid to students.
- Independently performs work operations which permit frequent decision-making of minor importance; researches, analyzes and prepares data for supervisor approval on decisions of major importance.
- Reconciles Pell and TEACH grant funds with COD, business office and disbursed aid reports; ensures student aid eligibility through verification process; monitors, manages, and reconciles scholarship allocation funds and reconciles with awarding agency, business office and disbursed aid reports.
- May act as a lead worker, requesting assistance on tasks from other office personnel during high processing times.

- Employment is conditional, pending successful completion of the background clearances mandated by Act 153 of 2014 and Board of Governors Policy 2014-01-A: Protection of Minors. In order to qualify for a provisional appointment, the Applicant Acknowledgement Consent Form, Provisional Hire Form, Pennsylvania State Police and Justifacts portion of the clearance process must be successfully completed prior to your start date. The remaining PA Child Abuse History Clearance and FBI Clearance must be successfully completed and returned as soon as possible within the first 90 days of employment.
In accordance with Act 153 of 2014 (HB 435), appointment is contingent upon completion of a satisfactory background investigation which includes, but is not limited to, Act 34, Pennsylvania Criminal Record Clearance; Act 151, Child Abuse Clearance; and Act 114, Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Checks.
Appointment is provisional provided the “Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification Form” and verification of your three background checks are returned to the Human Resource office prior to your hire date.
