AECOM is seeking a Entry Level Engineer to be based in Waterloo, IA.
This position is expected to begin in July of 2023 or sooner.
The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to:
- Builds analytic and design skills.
- Transportation Design includes but not limited to: Complete Streets, Highways, Interchanges, Bridges, Box Culverts, Storm and Sanitary Sewers, Detention Basins, Recreational Trails, ADA Sidewalks and Airports (Global and Local).
- Knowledge or ability to learn Civil3D and MicroStation ORD modeling for transportation projects and conduct engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
- Ability to learn ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Online for mapping, data collection and display graphics.
- Ability to learn and utilize Bluebeam and or Adobe products.
- Ability to assist in preparing plan sets with Project Managers and design staff on transportation projects and site plans.
- Knowledge or ability to obtain Iowa DOT inspection certifications.
- Gain knowledge and become familiar with Iowa DOT, Iowa SUDAS and Aviation specifications and design requirements.
- Assist with survey in the field, as needed, and development of CAD base maps.
- Travel opportunities are present but not required. If required for travel location, the ability to acquire passport.
Minimum Requirements:
- Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Must have a Valid U.S. Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications:
- EIT or the ability to acquire in 6 months
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Experience using AutoCAD and MicroStation
