Position Description:

This role is ideal for graduating students from technical schools and those new to the industrial automation industry in a technical capacity. Alongside our manufacturing partners, our robust training and mentoring program prepares technicians for success both in the shop and field, allowing them to grow and evolve into the technical experts our customers rely on.

Responsibilities:

  • Shadow* hands on training* senior staff/group leaders for a training period up to six months.
  • Provide technical support and information to customers and field sales staff as needed, until completion of service request.
  • Follow ECI QA procedures and work instructions as directed in ECI service shop and on site.
  • Respond to scheduled and unscheduled repairs
  • Performs assembly and assists with troubleshooting, maintenance and repairs on related instrumentation.
  • Responsible for assembling and disassembling of components and instrumentation as instructed.
  • Performs calibration on mechanical and electronic instruments, machinery, and components.
  • Ability to work during outage season and adhere to vacation blackouts (typically October and April each year).
  • Ability to respond to occasional on-call requests outside the regular work hours.
  • Notifies supervisor regarding parts or equipment in need of repair or replacement.
  • Performs all duties according to safety procedures and safety best practices.
  • Extensive travel required for this position-overnight stays are common; valid driver’s license is required.
  • Ability to take to Mechanical Aptitude Test and submit to random drug and alcohol testing through DISA program.
  • Notifies supervisor of any safety concerns on or off-site.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Up to 2 years’ experience preferred in the field or in a related area.
  • Ability and knowledge of how to use hand tools.
  • Ability to understand instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform necessary functions of the job.
  • Strong technical aptitude.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under immediate supervision as well as independently – constantly checking in with supervisor if he/she does not know the next step or the answer.
  • Curiosity and desire to learn.
  • Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record.
