ELOS Environmental, LLC (ELOS) is in need of a motivated environmental scientist to support field efforts and report preparation, permit application preparation, submittal, and tracking, mitigation document preparation, data processing, etc. The applicant must be organized, have experience using handheld GPS units, be capable of performing physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions, have experience in preparing various types of resource reports, and will be required to travel locally.

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Botany, Environmental Science, or a related discipline

Essential Duties/Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to):

· Apply standard field practices and techniques using basic field equipment to collect samples and other data.

· Gather and process basic data, scientific documents, and other information collected by others to be used in the preparation of scientific reports.

· Compile and organize project document files.

· Apply knowledge of natural sciences to explain field observations.

· Perform technical tasks as required in support of organizational objectives.

· Communicate with regulatory personnel to transmit and receive important project correspondence.

· Exercise compliance with company and other policies and procedures.

· Prepare basic data and scientific documents.

Required:

· Biological/Environmental degree or related field

· Ability to communicate effectively

· Ability to take detailed organized notes

· Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions

· Ability to travel locally

· Knowledge of wetlands vegetation

· Permitting experience preferred by not required

We are looking for a strong writer to fill this position. A writing sample will be requested before the interview process.
