JOB SUMMARY

The Lead Environmental Services Technician is responsible for competency training of staff members regarding general routine cleaning and sanitizing of all facilities, to ensure a clean and sanitary environment for patients and guests. Performs duties associated with the cleaning, processing, distribution, and inventorying of linens and personal clothing.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Provides competency training to staff members in all areas of Environmental Services.
  • Assist Facilities Director in scheduling daily and monthly shift coverage to limit overtime.
  • Responsible for monthly time study monitoring and linen record keeping.
  • Communicates with all departments regarding deficiency matters.
  • Cleans patient rooms and units. Washes, strips, and makes patient and resident beds.
  • Picks up garbage, in all areas of the facility, washes waste cans, and relines with clean plastic liners.
  • Cleans lighting fixtures, vents, and hard to reach areas using the proper method and equipment.
  • Washes and dusts a variety of surfaces, including but not limited to, stainless steel, mirrors, furniture, casters, and glass.
  • Washes personal items of residents in adherence to departmental protocols.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Washington State Driver License in good standing per auto insurance guidelines required.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, follow oral/written instructions in English required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • High school graduate or GED preferred.
  • Knowledge of common cleaning supplies and devices, i.e., mops, brooms, vacuums, ladders, is preferred.
