Job description

As the Haven Event Coordinator, you will be responsible for assisting with the overall planning and implementation of the activity program designed to meet the social, physical, intellectual, recreational, and spiritual needs of our residents. This is a part-time, 24 hour per week position.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a long term care activity department preferred
• Activity certification or course completion preferred
• Background in music, art, drama, and dance therapy preferred
• Able to flex hours to accommodate resident’s needs for evening, weekend, special events, and holiday events
• Computer skills

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Plans, coordinates, communicates and facilitates vents and non resident-led activities such as:

• SilverSneakers Muscular Strength & Range of Motion, and SilverSneakers Yoga Stretch
• Education through the Concordia Institute for Lifelong Learning
• Large holiday & seasonal celebration events
• Monthly entertainment
• Bus trips & outings

Oversees the overall planning and implementation of the following activities which are typically resident-led:

• Exercise programs and games using gross motor skills such as exercise group, Wii bowling, darts, bean bag toss, etc.
• Social activities such as games, movie night, music and other get-togethers
• Crafts, such as sewing, knitting and crocheting, card making, painting etc.
• Volunteer program
