Executive Director
Masonicare Charity Foundation - Wallingford, CT
Full Time / 40hrs/wk
Responsible for the overall strategic planning and program development, implementation and management of a comprehensive fund raising program as outlined in the master plan for Planned Giving and Development and further, to insure that the Foundation maximizes its efforts and achieves increased philanthropic results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide overall staff leadership in building a team of dedicated, capable employees who will perform their respective duties in a manner to help achieve goals and objectives.
2. Serve as the chief professional development officer providing direction that will insure that the department performs its duties within the accepted code of ethics and the highest moral standards in dealing with donors.
3. Develop, maintain and update (as deemed appropriate) a comprehensive master plan for Planned Giving and Development which delineates the scope of the philanthropic programs and further, to maximize the results of these programs.
4. Develop strategic plan and implement to reach various audiences to increase generosity and to broaden the base of support. Also, to participate with the overall Masonicare planning process to support the needs and objectives of Masonicare and its affiliates.
5. Advise and inform the Board of Directors as to trends, challenges, problems and activities to assist in facilitating any necessary policy making.
6. Establish for and with each staff goals, objectives and standards for productivity. Consult and advise staff on regular basis; keep lines of communication open; maintain high employee morale and a professional working environment. Review staff performance in relation to established goals and implement changes to positively effect continued improvement by each member of the staff.
7. Research, cultivate and solicit prospective donors at all levels. Develop and implement promotional programs for various gift plans. Diversify planning to insure that multiple targeted audiences are included in the cultivation and solicitation plans. Also, provide

9. In conjunction with the Director of Marketing, plan, create, develop and implement all the media, promotion and marketing materials corporate-wide based on the CORPORATE STANDARDS MANUAL. This includes the materials for Planned Giving and Development.
10. Assure sound fiscal management and operations of all fund raising programs including timely, accurate and comprehensive preparation of annual/capital budgets. Prepare and present periodic reports regarding services, operational performance and any other special reports as required.
11. Maintain professional affiliations, take active leadership role and participate in such a manner to further enhance professional growth and awareness of trends and new developments in fund raising techniques.
12. Perform other managerial duties as directed/required.
Qualifications:
Education: B.S./B.A. Degree (Master's Degree preferred) in human relations, business administration, marketing communications or other related field required.
