Experienced Automobile Insurance Adjuster – Legal Department

This position is in Mount Prospect, IL, a suburb of Chicago.

Job Description

• Adjust auto claims in the pre-litigation or early litigation stages, primarily third-party automobile claims
• Serve as a resource for colleagues with less experience, contribute to training
• Work with the Claim and Legal Departments
• Responsible for favorably settling and processing, if appropriate, attorney represented claims that are not presently in suit
• Identify & resolve coverage issues
• Responsible for an inventory of files
• Identify high priority cases and keep on a close diary
• Favorably negotiate claims and reach claim resolutions expeditiously
• Draft coverage position letters or correspondence as needed
• Provides stakeholders with a level of service that meets or exceeds their expectations
• Control claim costs and expenses to the extent possible
• Identify process improvements to increase effectiveness and efficiency
• Assist in responding to attorney, regulatory, producer and consumer inquiries

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years auto insurance claims experience
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Observant and ability to pick up details
• Street smarts
• Strong liability analysis skills
• Knowledge of state-mandated claim practices
• Ability to find solutions quickly
• Associate degree or higher preferred
• Understands concepts of court processes
• Superior coverage analysis
• Knowledge of reserving philosophies
• Proficiency with technology, primarily Microsoft Office – Word and Excel

The Position:

• Regular Full Time (40hrs per week) 8am-5pm Monday-Friday
