Facilities Maintenance- Building and Grounds-
Monday through Thursday 5:00am - 3:30pm, overtime required based on business needs
The Facilities Maintenance Technician for Building and Grounds is responsible for providing general maintenance and construction as assigned. Upon arrival at the assigned project, the Facilities Maintenance Technician must visually assess and troubleshoot the maintenance issue to correctly make the necessary repairs. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will determine what equipment is needed and the scope of the job as it relates to the following areas: electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, landscaping, or drainage. After assessing what is necessary to repair the issue, the Facilities Maintenance Technician must order all parts, supplies, and equipment as necessary. Tools that will be used range from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precise measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will work collaboratively with contractors, and others within the company while also being able to work independently on each assigned task.

- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
- Enter and locate work-related information using computers and communicate with others using computers and electronic devices
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested including but not limited to: floor repair, replacing tiles, vinyl flooring, repair / replace doors, door closers, maintenance on dock doors and dock locks, replacing ac filters, water filters, painting, replacing light bulbs, replacing ceiling tiles, repairing toilets / urinals, PM compactors / Bailers etc., assembly of office furniture, moving office furniture, and any other task assigned as the company requires
What skills are we looking for?
- Capable of troubleshooting, repairing and overhauling equipment within close tolerances
- Perform routine mechanical problem-solving on process & packaging equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance (PM's) on process & packaging equipment with minimal guidance
- Support Operations in equipment setup, changeover, and training of operators in autonomous maintenance (AM) activities
- Document work orders (WO)/preventative maintenance (PM's) using computerized maintenance management system (SAP-PPM Plant Maintenance)
- Effectively communicate with machine operators, peers, supervisors and all levels of management on a daily basis
- Provide enthusiastic support where needed and complete other duties as assigned by Team Leader
- Demonstrate engagement in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Theory and Concepts through participation in Pillar Teams, training fellow Mechanics/Operators in autonomous (AM) activities and conducting Breakdown Analysis
- Understand and adhere to Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures, confined space procedures and all other plant safety/good manufacturing practices (GMP) requirements related to supporting machinery uptime
- Possess essential personal tools needed to support mechanical ability
- Willingness to develop required technical skills in welding, basic machinist, and fabrication/layout skill sets
Preferred skills:
- Possess an advanced understanding of AC/DC electrical (up to 480-volt 3 phase), hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings to solve problems in a timely manner
- Technical/ Trade certification in welding, advanced machinist skills, fabrication, and blueprint interpretation
- Possess PLC/ Instrumentation troubleshooting skills
Educational and Professional Requirements:
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Technical Degree/Trade Certification OR 2+ years work experience related to industrial maintenance
- Possess a fundamental understanding of Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic Schematics and/or Mechanical Drawings in order to solve problems with equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a technical discipline, preferably in Industrial Maintenance/Technology
- Technical/ Trade Certification in: Welding, Advanced Machinist Skills, fabrication, and blueprint interpretation
