Fiber Optic Quality Control Tech - Job Description

*
Ability to work the following shift: 7:30am – 4pm

• Knowledge of 36, 60, 72, 96, 144, 288, 432 count fiber optic cables.
• Must be able to distinguish colors of fiber optic cable (Ex. Red, Black, Yellow etc.)
• Experience of 1 or more years working with Fiber Optic cable.

• Experience lashing figure 8 fiber optic cable.
• Connects wires and cables to terminals and attaches/detaches various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, buildings, or poles.
• Experience of aerial tasks such as new cable installs, pole transfers, strand building, cable hanging, lashing, etc.
• Experience with construction work such as placing cable, air pipe and inner duct in various types of conduit systems and open excavations.
• Ensures all installation work is done according to company standards.
• Must always comply with proper safety standards/procedures and work practices according to the customer, whichever standard is higher.
• Knowledge in building strand, lashing/over lashing, pole transfers, vertical grounds and building and repairing aerial telecommunication transmission lines.
• Safely use Bucket, Line, or boom trucks.
• Ability to utilize teamwork and responsibility to complete tasks at hand.

Q.C Physical Demands/Work Environment:

• Can lift up to 50 lbs.
• Requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, twisting, reaching above shoulder level, working in confined spaces, working off a pole or in a bucket.
• Capable of working in all temperatures, climates, and weather conditions.

• Must have the ability to operate hydraulic aerial lifts (buckets) and ladders for hard to reach poles (Ex. Backyards) up to and exceeding 30ft.

Q.C Specific Competencies:

• Ability to operate a truck efficiently.
• Ability to read and interpret construction prints, plans and specifications.
• Able to work outdoors in all types of weather.
• Must have and maintain a valid state driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
