The Executive Liability Division is seeking an Underwriter who will work on the Public Underwriting team. This position is remote.* The role of the Underwriter is to market, underwrite and produce profitable business. The Underwriter must have the ability to relate to people easily in order to develop effective customer partnerships.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for an assigned book of business in which account information is evaluated, underwritten and priced within authority guidelines. Has responsibility for risk selection/rejection, retention, growth and profitability within scope of authority and per divisional objectives.
- The position requires the ability to assess private and public company management liability risks. You will be tasked to review applications, audited financial statements, publicly available information and other supporting details. Based on the determination of risk levels, the underwriter is tasked with making recommendation on pricing, terms and conditions.
- Maintains a high level of customer service. Communicates directly with brokers and Insureds. Promptly issues quotes, policies and endorsements.
- Proactively develops and maintains strong broker relationships.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or other Business related field, inclusive of financial statement analysis skills.
- High level of organizational skills, ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in order to leverage customer relationships, and for marketing products and services.
- Able to work autonomously.
- Must be open to future travel.
- This position is fully remote, however candidate must live in either New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut and must be willing to commute into Manhattan up to 20% of the time.
