Full Job Description
The Finishing Specialist is responsible for filing, sanding, and polishing firearms or components of a firearm within the required quality specifications for fit and finish. The essential responsibilities are typically repetitive and routine tasks that are well-defined with specific, detailed instructions. Routine tasks are supervised early on, however, new tasks are typically performed under close supervision.
The Finisher position is an opportunity to learn foundational skills while working alongside some of the best in their field. Success in this position will create additional opportunities for growth here at Atlas Gunworks.
- Ability to deburr, sand, polish
- Ability to self-inspect work and strive for consistent quality
- Ability to tumble, count, wrap, and ship components
- Ability to learn part tumbling process
- Ability to learn bead blast of precision machined aluminum, and other metal parts

Here's what you'll need to be considered for this exciting opportunity:
The ideal candidate would be experienced with material finishing, but someone with a high attention to detail willing to learn would be equally successful. An aptitude for working with mechanical equipment or a willingness to learn is essential for this position. The right individual with other abilities suitable to our processes that show the ability to learn quickly and catch on could be trained for this position.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform deburring operations of removing surface defects from a number of parts using manual and/or electric tools.
- Utilize basic technical skills to set up, operate or maintain machinery or equipment to perform job tasks ranging from repetitive to non-routine.
- Capable of following standard finishing applications in order to achieve dimensional integrity and required finish characteristics.
- Effectively organize and execute responsibilities to complete assignments within required parameters and pre-established time-management standards.
- Perform housekeeping activities to keep the work area and equipment clean and organized.
- Assists with other assignments or special projects, as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Follows instructions, responds to directions, and wants to work.
- Visual acuity to perform visual inspection involving small defects, small parts
- Strong attention to detail and quality-oriented with strong initiative/drive.
- Proven ability to successfully execute multiple tasks as needed in a deadline-oriented environment, flexible to changing priorities and demands as needed.
- Requires manual dexterity, ability to pick/pinch and work with fingers, repetitive motions of wrists/hands/finger, arm-hand steadiness, and a safety-minded individual.
- Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources
