Job description
Ensures the printing press has all related materials needed in the process of manufacturing pressure sensitive labels. This would include but not limited to getting paper material, inks, tooling, and other supplies. In addition, with the pre-set-up of each job the Press Support will also help in the clean-up, washing ink pans, storing print cylinders, replenishing cleaning chemicals, and dumping trash.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Follow direction given by department lead.
- Review Job Ticket and gather material and tooling needed for order.
- Mount plates and mix ink for printing press as needed.
- Finish quality work in allowed time given.
- Replenish cleaning chemicals at each printing press.
- Return inks from printing press and store in appropriate cabinets.
- Clean printing plates, cylinders and ink pans from printing press and store
- Clean and store printing plates, cylinders, ink pans and other related materials.
- Work effectively and respectfully with other departments and co-workers
- Willingness to work overtime and maintain good attendance.
- Follow and exercise a safe work environment.
- Follow all procedures and processes.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Perform other tasks given by manager.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma, G.E.D or work experience
- Basic computer skills (navigating through programs)
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
- Must be fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
- Ability to read and use a ruler.
- Ability to stay organized, and work under pressure.
- Knowledge and understanding of label or printing processes is a plus.
- Willing to train the right person.
