Summary:

The CUSTODIAN (Floor Care/ Disinfection Team) provides services as an employee of PESG serving the district as part of a team who provide and maintain a clean, sanitary and safe environment by conducting disinfection of common spaces, and ensuring floor surfaces are well maintained in a manner that supports SCPS’ vision and mission.

Essential Job Functions (note this is not an exhaustive list of the duties performed for this position):

• Responsible and accountable for conducting District-wide floor care, deep cleaning, and disinfection services at all assigned campus and facility locations.
• Responsible for unlocking and securing campus as required.
• Provide District-wide floor care and disinfection services at assigned locations. Duties include, but not limited to: diagram room setup and furniture removal and replacement, scrub, strip and refinish floors, deep clean restrooms and locker rooms as outlined in the Custodial Handbook.
• Follow established safety procedures.
• Maintain equipment in good working order, operate disinfection and floor cleaning/finishing equipment to include, but not limited to: disinfection machines, buffer/burnishers cleaning/finishing equipment, water extraction machine.

• Participate in and provide training as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by District Custodial Staff, Assistant Director of Facilities Services.
• Accurately reports and enters time into timekeeping program.
• Represent the District and PESG in a professional manner by performing all job functions at a satisfactory or above level.
• Interact with co-workers, administration, students, parents, and the community in a positive, supportive, and cooperative ways.
• Performs other related duties, including special projects, as required or requested, consistent with reasonable expectations for the contracted position.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalence or Florida Special Diploma

• Completion of the required Global Compliance Network online training modules.
• Demonstrated record of good attendance and punctuality.

• Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication.

• Must meet criminal history background requirements (requires FBI Fingerprint and SOARS clearance)
• Experience in custodial work or equivalence preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Heavy work which will require exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
