Job Description – FP&A Associate – Zoetis Finance Rotational Program
**Possible locations include Kalamazoo, MI, Parsippany, NJ, and Remote**
Description:
We have an exciting early career opportunity that will rotate across functional areas supporting Zoetis FP&A. The FP&A Associate will work closely with finance and site leadership teams in an average of three functional areas over the course of the rotational program. The program provides broad exposure to multiple roles in Zoetis FP&A and intends to culminate with placement in a permanent role at the end of the rotational program.
Responsibilities:
- Support finance teams and functional leadership in various areas depending on rotational role. Areas of focus may include but are not limited to:
- Develop annual budget and quarterly forecasts
- Analyze and report on key drivers of operating expenses, including monthly and quarterly results and variance analysis
- Manage capital spend budget, and tracking versus expectations
- Prepare month-end journal entries and accruals, and perform balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparation of financial statements
- Assist in drafting monthly and quarterly finance presentations and reports
- Special ad-hoc projects and initiatives such as automation of reports, and valuation of external early-stage partnerships
Educational requirements and job experience:
- University degree in appropriate discipline (i.e. accounting, finance or economics)
- 0-2 years of post-university experience
- Experience in the Animal Health and/or human health industry is considered an asset
- Prior experience leading change in a dynamic environment
- Skills needed:
- Strong analytical background with strategic thinking capabilities and attention to detail
- Solid understanding of accounting, internal controls, financial systems and processes – experience with SAP, HFM and/or Essbase is particularly helpful
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management both verbally and in writing
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
- Ability to multi-task, consistently meeting deadlines on multiple projects and activities
- Work effectively in a team environment and in building collaborative relationships with peers and with other stakeholders
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
