Job Summary:

This position exists to supervise various support activities related to the Freezer using a wide variety of products and materials.

Responsibilities:

• Follow and enforce GS Gelato’s GMP, SQF, safety and sanitation regulations.

• Manages all employees an all aspects of the freezer department.

• Ensures all employees are properly trained in all aspects of freezer.

• Responsible for FIFO rotation.

• Responsible for the inventory of all freezer supplies.

• Responsible for all frozen finished product inventory.

• Measure, weigh, and count products and materials.

• Examine and inspect pallet tags, cases, pallet conditions and products prior to shipping.

• Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records.

• Remove completed or defective products or materials, placing them in specified areas and completing a waste log for them.

• Product inspection.

• Load product onto trucks that are picking up.

• Works in Finale to ensure all open sales orders are being shipped correctly.

• Uses scanner system to correctly take inventory out of finale when shipping the orders.

• Build and manifest all outbound orders.

• Responsible to keep freezer area clean.

• Provides direction within the freezer department and ensure that all tasks are completed daily.

• Completes all required paperwork daily, weekly and monthly.

• Manage and oversee freezer department, ensuring quality standards and inventory control are met at every turn.

• Responsible for proper functioning of forklift, wrapper and scale. Report any problems to maintenance or immediate manager.

• Works with logistics and drivers to ensure retail items are shipped appropriately to cold storage.

• Responsible for inputting inventory data, building orders and scanning shipments.

• Works with boxing supervisor to ensure that all numbers are accurate and reconciled.

• Works with Logistics Manager and Warehouse Operations Manager to ensure product availability for orders.

• Maintains an open line of communication with all departments.

• Maintain freezer fans to ensure they are free of ice, clear off ice along the flooring to maintain safety and order. Communicate any issues immediately.

• All other duties as assigned.

Skill/Experience Requirement:

• Able to Lift 50 Lbs.

• Able to work in a very cold environment for extended periods of time.

• Demonstrated ability interpret information.

• Able to operate forklift, pallet jacks, bundler and scale.

• Experience driving a forklift.

Minimum Education Level Required to Perform Job Duties:

• High school diploma or GED may be required

Pay: From $37,000.00 per year
