Full-time Academic Coach Position

Since 2010, Lana Learn has been supporting schools and students in our community in Washington, DC. We are looking for someone to support our newest partners, the District of Columbia city government and District of Columbia Public Schools, and who is passionate about education, college access, and equity to join the team. We are a dynamic, dedicated, and diverse education organization offering personalized and comprehensive college admissions services. The Academic Coach will be responsible for building relationships with schools and organizations, providing academic tutoring, and delivering college and test prep services.

Characteristics:

• Skilled in professional communication and interpersonal interaction
• Organized and strategic
• Ability to work at different school locations within the DMV area
• Produces data-driven results

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide academic coaching and High Impact Tutoring to high school students in the DMV area.
• Deliver engaging specialized academic and test-prep instruction in person to students in small groups or full classroom settings.
• Respond to administrators, students, and parents in a timely manner.
• Work with students to help them establish personal and academic goals.
• Communicate student progress toward SAT/ACT target scores, academic tutoring, or college admissions goals with Lana Learn’s Leadership Team and respective school’s administrative team as necessary.
• Collect data required by partners and Lana Learn to remain grant-compliant and improve Lana Learn’s education experience.
• Attend required training and professional development events.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Classroom teaching, SAT/ACT prep, and/or academic tutoring experience required.
• Experience working with diverse student populations or organizations.
• Passion for supporting student success.
• Experience with English Language Learners is a bonus.

Work Hours and benefits:

• Full-time position with work during and after school hours.

Compensation:

• Starting at $45,000-$50,000 commensurate with experience.
• This full-time Academic Coach position is eligible for benefits.
