Maintenance Worker
Full time 37.5 to 40 hour position
We are looking for a skilled Maintenance worker to perform upkeep tasks such as repairs and cleaning. You will be responsible for applying basic fixes to equipment and knowlege of building systems and ensure facilities are tidy and functional and that the building is kept safe for residents.
Being reliable with a keen eye for detail is the first step to getting this job. The ideal candidate will have experience and solid technical knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning activities such as vacumming, mopping, using floor machines/ equipment
- Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken equipment, repair and paint walls and fixtures as needed, light plumbing ( faucet replacement, toliet valves, etc.) General facility upkeep
- Check control panels, complete check list each day, doors, eye wash stations etc.
- Collect daily trash and recycle
- Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g. ventilation) then report to department director, while working closely with contracted services.
- Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm) perform and document fire drills.
- Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations, repairs, and annual / monthly / weekly system checks
- Ability to work well with geriatric residents, co-workers, administration, and contractors while maintaing a professional manner
Skills
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems
- Experience using hand and electrical tools
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical stamina and dexterity
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Most possess a valid Maine State Driver's License
Full benefits package
$18.25 base rate plus extra for years of experience
