This is a Maintenance Technician position with our Rumford Community Homes Long Term Care facility in Rumford, Maine.
Position Summary: Assume responsibility for repairs and preventative maintenance of the physical plant. Performs, when capable, all minor repairs and preventative maintenance to exclude major roof repairs and structural repairs. Processes work orders. Inspects the physical plant on a routine basis. Ensures that resident rooms are ready to receive new residents To execute the duties assigned by the job description and the Director of Personal Care Services.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:
1. Repair and/or replace window screens.
2. Repair and/or replace bathroom fixtures.
3. Makes minor roof repairs.
4. Minor repair and maintenance on laundry equipment.
5. Dispense supplies according to need.
6. Check overhead vents and clean them.
7. Check on hot water temperatures in the facility.
8. Floor Care
9. Check plants, trees and grounds for general condition and appearance.
10. Check heating systems, boilers and/or other systems.
11. Check parking lot for cracks, painting and general cleanliness.
12. Check all entrances for needed repairs.
13. Painting inside and outside of the facility.
14. Floor and wall tile work.
15. Vinyl work and/or repair.
16. Minor equipment repair.
17. Preventative maintenance and service on equipment.
18. Clean air conditioning and heating units.
19. Clean filters on equipment.
20. Change thermostats in heating/air conditioning units.
21. Maintain the lawns, shrubs, plants and trees on facility property.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1-3 Years Experience in a Maintenance Position Preferred
  • Language Skills:
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Additional languages preferred.
