Job description
The primary purpose of this job is to maintain the exterior grounds of Duncaster during the various seasons. The groundskeeper will be responsible for assuring the grounds present a positive impression and preserve the integrity of the property.
Job Duties

- Demonstrate use of hand & power tools
- Proper use of fire extinguishers
- Proper use of two-way radios
- Proper use of lawn mowing equipment
- Proper us of trimming & pruning equipment
- Proper use of snow & ice removal equipment
- Snow Plowing equipment use (pick-up & sander)
- Pond Maintenance, including pond fountain
- Trash removal & recycling
- Fall & Spring clean-up
- Town Green fountain maintenance & repair
- Pesticide and insecticide applications
- Fertilizer applications
- Equipment upkeep & repair skills
- Special gardens & areas
- Irrigation operation, maintenance, and inspection, including winterizing
- Tree & flower bed maintenance, i.e., mulching, weeding
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience
- Must have comprehensive knowledge of grounds maintenance including lawn care, fertilization, pruning and garden maintenance.
- Must have general knowledge of snow removal, minor asphalt repairs, and trash removal.
- Must have five years’ experience in grounds maintenance.
- Must have a High School education degree or equivalent.
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, the English language in an understandable manner.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
