Job Location: This position will be located at 900 W. Nifong Blvd. Columbia, MO 65203. Other state office building locations in Missouri will also be considered.

What you’ll do:

• Evaluate transmission risks and provide effective consultation with healthcare facilities to address multi-drug resistant organisms (MDROs), suspected outbreaks, or infection control breaches; Perform onsite and/or remote (where appropriate) infection control assessments and provide assistance until gaps have been addressed.
• Maintain communication and collaboration with internal and external partners such as regional and local public health professionals, the Missouri State Public Health Laboratory, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and national professional organizations (APIC, CSTE, etc.).
• Assist in the collection and analysis of reportable HAI data in the State.
• Assist with other focus areas within the program (antibiotic stewardship activities, data management and support of CDC's National Health Safety data Network, infection prevention training and outreach) as needed.
• Utilize trainings, webinars, and professional development activities to increase expertise in the various areas of HAI.

All you need for success:

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in public health or similar health related field
• Knowledge of epidemiologic techniques, methods, and surveillance systems
• Ability to analyze and interpret epidemiologic data
