Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Hall Director Assistant (Multiple Vacancies) for the The School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Program. This position serves as the secondary staff member responsible for supervising students and Resident Mentors.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:

- Assists with the opening and closing of the residence halls at the beginning and end of the School of Arts and Sciences Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Summer Institute.
- Co-Facilitates staff training for Resident Mentors and develops activities.
- Assists with organizing staff social and team building activities.
- Serves on supervisory on-call duty rotation; nights and weekends.
- Responsible for student supervision outside the classroom, ensuring the health and safety of all students by following medical protocols.
- Assists with Community Development and planning/leading educational and social activities.
- Responds to crises and emergencies as directed in established protocols or as directed by supervisor or SAS-EOF leadership.
- Attends staff meetings, training sessions, and other required meetings as deemed necessary.
- Serves as a resource, referrals, and communication agent for staff and residents.
- Distributes paperwork, flyers, brochures, etc. according to instructions.
- Serves as liaison between the professional staff, Residence Life staff, and residents.
- Assist in ensuring the health and safety of all students by following medical protocols covered in the Handbook and written materials.
- Assist with RM duty schedule.
- Assists with clerical tasks and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Consideration to interview will also be given to applicants who have not yet graduated with a Bachelor’s degree. Documentation of the required Bachelor’s degree must be provided prior to the commencement of employment.
- Requires up to two years relevant experience in an administrative function, good communication and interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
Certifications/Licenses
- Valid driver’s license

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must have completed protection of Minors Certification before the program starts.
- Must have at least 1 year of residence life experience
- Must have strong leadership, communication, programming, and organizational skills
- Must be able to able to commit to full time employment for the duration of the Summer Institute

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Employee is required to stay overnight in the residence Hall from July 3th to July 28th, 2023.
- May not hold any outside employment
Special Conditions
- The Summer Institute begins on July 10, 2023 through July 28. 2022. Must attend training starting on June 28th through July 7 prior to the start of the program.

Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees, Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster upon eligibility and upload proof of same. Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
