Job description

• Inspect, audit, and monitor equipment, work areas and work practices and procedures for compliance with established health and safety rules and regulations
• Assist in identifying, preventing, recommending control measures, and eliminating safety hazards
• Conduct new hire safety training
• Conduct/Participate internal compliance audits
• Safety work order tracking
• Conduct/Participate Near Miss follow ups and investigations
• Conduct PPE Inspection
• Interact with plant personnel daily within the production area
• Participate as member of the Plant Safety Committee
• Conduct/Deliver operator/contractor safety training
• Inspect/Maintain site safety signage
• Maintain monthly KPI reports including key safety metrics. Trend and analyze data and report findings and recommendations to Plant Management
• Assist with maintenance and update of policies, procedures and associated documents
• Data entry into KPI data base/software
• Assist with Contractor Safety Program
• Assist with new and modified processes/equipment/product development to ensure safety is included at all levels of design through implementation
• Participate in safety & industrial hygiene reviews, routine safety inspections and incident investigations, making appropriate recommendations
• Ability to focus on details and understand the overall impact of events and decisions
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Demonstrated competency in the technical and training skills required to fulfill the position’s responsibilities
• Knowledge of OSHA/industry specific regulatory requirements/standards and official interpretations
• Interaction with regulatory agencies, consultants, and other contractor personnel.
• Ability to effectively motivate people, to enlist needed cooperation in implementing effective safety programs.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with personnel at all organizational levels
• Strong Computer Skills (database, word processing, spreadsheet, etc.)
• Documentation development, revision and management

• Food Safety
• Carry out responsibilities/duties according to food safety, legal and quality requirements to ensure that our products are fit for human consumption.

Environment

• Comply with all environmental standards, procedures, and work instructions.
• Report any environmental violations or near misses to prevent any impact upon the local environment, its inhabitants and Tate & Lyle.

Health & Safety

• Adhere to the safety policies, procedures, and site rules.
• Fully participate in the safety program, including reporting any incidents or near misses and auditing.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Associates degree in related field preferred.
• 3-5 year’s relevant experience in manufacturing or construction environment.
• Strong Computer Skills (database, Microsoft office applications etc.)
• Experience in fast paced work environment with strong organizational skill is desired

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 per year
