Job description
To assist and support the delivery of quality care and to contribute to the effective running of the Department by undertaking tasks that directly support the needs of the patient and assists their journey through outpatients. To work under the supervision of registered staff, communicating and documenting as appropriate and working with other members of the multidisciplinary team in a professional manner

Assisting and chaperoning in outpatient Fracture and Orthopaedic Clinics.

Patient contact, which may involve dressing wounds, removing sutures, checking patients have understood clinic outcomes and helping with comprehension if necessary.

Running clinics including maintaining patients records and using the relevant hospital systems to track patient’s progress through clinic and ensuring notes and relevant paperwork or digital files are processed in the correct and a timely fashion.

General Healthcare assistant duties including assisting patients with hygiene and nutrition requirements.

We are a busy Outpatient Department specializing in Trauma and Orthopaedics. Working alongside the Orthopaedic Consultants and Registrars in their clinics.

Running busy fracture clinics daily for a large catchment area as well as elective clinics for both paediatrics and adults.

A big friendly team, we believe in supporting each other, effective communication and maintaining good relationships with both staff and patients. We work closely with multi-disciplinary teams throughout the NHS as part of caring for the patients, so it's always interesting.

All Healthcare assistant duties including supporting patients’ personal comfort and hygiene requirements in the clinic environment. HCAs work as part of the outpatient team to support and facilitate outpatient service provision by performing and recording routine vital signs and other observations as required.

Develop key skills and competencies in basic plastering

General Healthcare assistant duties including assisting patients with hygiene and nutrition requirements.

Maintaining own staff development and training.
