Falmouth Middle School seeks a dynamic, creative teacher to teach health for grades 5-8. The successful candidate must be able to make strong, positive connections with middle school age students and champion innovative approaches to wellness in the school. Middle school teaching experience preferred; certification in health and physical education preferred. The duties of this position will include: Teach Health curriculum to students in grades 5-8Implement schools SEL curriculum as an advisor to a group of middle school studentsAttend regular team, staff, and content planning meetings The ideal candidate will: Be flexible, passionate and empatheticLove working with adolescents and have an understanding for their unique developmental needs Have experience developing health curriculum in line with the state standardsAble to differentiate for a range of learnersEager to develop and maintain positive relationships with families and community membersBe creative, organized, communicate effectively, and take initiativeEmbrace collaboration and teamwork Maintain an equity lens and a growth mindset Qualifications / Certifications / Experience / Degree requirement: Has (or is eligible for) Maine Teaching LicensureExperience working with middle school learnersApproved background check (run by the district).
