JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: Hospitality Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Operations Director
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Regular, full-time
CLASSIFICATION: Hourly
LOCATION: 2650 Broadview Ave, Wasilla AK 99654
FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt
GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
The Day One Hospitality Coordinator is responsible for overseeing food services and sanitation
of the detox unit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensure all clients are receiving three nutritional meals and two snacks daily
2. Ensure all client food is properly handled, stored, and disposed of
3. Maintains a supply of in-house fresh fruits and vegetables for daily snacks
4. Orders, picks up, and delivers meals and prepares for this duty to be managed during
non-workdays
5. Maintains adequate clean linen and cleaning supplies for the sanitation of the detox unit
6. Wash, fold and store linens in accordance with health and safety standards
7. Follow Policy & Procedures related to health and safety standards for True North
Recovery, Inc.
8. Notify, in writing, any significant events to the Operations Director at the end of every
shift, pointing out problems noted, unhealthy client interaction, or safety problems
9. Make reports of significant events to appropriate off duty staff when necessary, such as
clients leaving the building, being in an undesignated space, medical emergency, or any
other event as directed by the Critical Incident Report guidelines
10. Performs related duties as assigned
11. Maintain proper handling and storage requirements for chemicals within Day One
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. High school diploma or general equivalency degree
2. Food handler's card
3. Two years’ experience working with individuals in a substance-use related field
4. Strong understanding of de-escalations skills
5. If in recovery must be in remission for ONE (1) year and working a program of
recovery
6. CPR/First Aid/AED certified or able to obtain within 30 days of hire
7. Continued employment is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory state and federal
background check
8. Must have a valid Alaska Driver's License and insurable under True North vehicle
insurance
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
1. Working knowledge of Motivational Interviewing and Trauma-Informed Care
2. Previous food handling experience
3. Peer support training and certification
4. CPR/First Aid/AED certified
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
1. Knowledge of alcoholism and drug addiction as a disease
2. Ability to communicate proficiently verbally and in writing
3. Demonstrate the ability to respond to crisis situations and emergencies with good
judgment
4. Ability to deescalate agitated clients
5. Ability to maintain healthy boundaries with clients
