Job Opportunity
Title: Housekeeper, PT
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Wage: $12.48/hour, based on experience
Work Schedule: Applicant will work 12.5 hours/week

• Monday through Friday o 2.5 hours/day
• After closing and/or before opening

Job Summary:
The Kendallville Public Library provides access to information…for life. Our facilities house resources that enact changes in our communities, our neighbors, our families, schools, and in ourselves. At KPL, we believe every team member plays a key role in shaping the quality of our services. That is why we need individuals who are passionate about caring for their community and others. This Housekeeper position is a critical team role. This individual puts the shine on an already gorgeous facility, helps keep our building and grounds clean, and contributes to the overall well-being of all who enter our doors.

Excellent candidates will be able to:

• provide exceptional care to the cleanliness of the facility and grounds
• maintain current awareness of OSHA standards
• self-pace so that tasks are thoroughly completed in a timely manner
• effectively communicate to direct supervisor and Branch team members
• collaborate as part of a team
• adapt to changes and know when to follow directives or take initiative
• multitask and prioritize responsibilities

Physical Demands

• Mobility to bend, stoop, kneel, sit, walk, and pull/push, lift, carry up to 50lbs.

Expected Tasks:

• clean and sanitize restrooms dust and polish
• refill dispensers laugh with the team * empty trash and recyclables enjoy learning

• vacuum remain flexible * remove debris from sidewalks have safety awareness

• mop floors

Qualifications: Candidates will need hold a valid Indiana driver’s license and have a high school diploma or GED
Certificate. Basic computer skills are required, and knowledge of Microsoft Office software is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills and additional abilities such as good verbal and written communication, technology, leadership & decision-making, critical thinking & problem solving, and time management are a must. Commits to excellence and is self-motivative and innovative. This position will remain open until closed.
