F3EA, Inc. is seeking an Interpersonal Performance Coach with a Special Operations background. The Interpersonal Performance Coach provides instruction in Interpersonal Performance education and training to enhance Army Special Operations Forces (ARSOF) Soldiers ability to: think and solve problems in unconventional ways; maintain composure while responding to or adjusting one’s own thinking and actions to fit a changing environment; recognize, understand, and navigate within multiple social networks; and proactively shape the environment or circumstances in anticipation of desired outcomes. Develop and provide instruction in Interpersonal Performance that provides the skills and techniques required for ARSOF Soldiers to physically, mentally, and interpersonally excel while operating under high stress in ambiguous, high-risk, chaotic, and physically demanding environments.
Role and Responsibilities
- Develop and provide interpersonal education and training to enhance thinking, problem solving, and unconventional solution development.
- Serve as HP SMEs to assist in the integration of physiological and biometric sensors, and other technology to determine training impacts through Measure of Performance (MOPs) and Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs). This will include the use of a current synthetic training environment (STE) capabilities and future semi-immersive and virtual immersive capabilities training capabilities including AR, VR, and MR technologies. Coaches will work with Soldiers during individual and collective marksmanship training with simulated and real weapons (configured for use in the STE; no live ammunition) on the application of human performance (HP) skills.
- Develop and provide education and training for maintaining composure while responding and/or adjusting to changing environments.
- Coach and educate shaping the environment while recognizing, understanding, anticipating and navigating multiple social networks.
- Instruct and coach negotiation techniques in a joint, interagency, intergovernmental, and multinational environment.
- Collaborate with multi-service, joint, federal, and/or designated organizations to share, research, and implement best practices of interpersonal performance theory into practical application.
- Perform statistical analysis, provide findings and input for oral and/or written reports.
- Train, instruct, and coach Soldiers and Leaders in engagement and negotiations techniques and application to individual and collective military tasks and operations.
- Assist maintaining professional development programs to ensure implementation of current literature, academics, and best practices related to interpersonal performance.
- Instruct, train, and coach in engagement and negotiation techniques, conflict styles, adaptive thinking, conflict resolution, and mediation.
- Perform instruction, training, and education in field environments and under seasonal and adverse weather conditions.
- Perform instruction, training, and education in field environments requiring movement/transportation via watercraft, aircraft, and/or ground vehicular means.
- Assist and provide input to presentations/briefings that inform leaders and decision makers.
- Comply with company standard operating policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Minimum of ten (10) years' experience with SOF and a minimum of three (3) OCONUS deployments with SOF.
- Served in leadership positions as a Commissioned Officer (O3 or above), Chief Warrant Officer (CW2 or above), or Senior Non-Commissioned Officer (E-7 or above) in Civil Affairs, Special Forces, or Psychological Operations units.
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as an instructor with Army Special Operations Forces (ARSOF) with groups of up to 100 individuals. Preferred: Military Instructor certification.
- Minimum of one (1) years of experience in negotiations, engagements, or cross-cultural communications with large, small, and individual audiences, in classroom and field environments under adverse conditions.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Physical Demands
- Work in a field environment under adverse conditions including hours of darkness, inclement weather, etc. and nonstandard hours/schedules.
- Periodically work in a field environment observing ARSOF Soldiers (up to 40 hours per two weeks). FTE may be exposed to a variety of weather conditions and extreme temperatures ranging from the upper 120s degrees Fahrenheit in the daytime to the lower 20s degrees Fahrenheit at night.
- Able to conduct movements by land, sea or air via Military/Commercial fixed or rotary wing aircraft, waterborne craft, or ground transport in support of unit training in assigned core supporting tasks.
- Able to walk cross-country (uneven, rocky, sandy, and water obstacles up to waist high) in all weather conditions during day, night, and low visibility periods. Able to operate outside of a normal office environment where restrooms and wash facilities are not available.
- Able to carry a backpack (up to 20 pounds) cross-country while observing cadre and Soldiers.
- Able to be transported in government provided ground vehicles and/or military aviation.
