Job description

As a member of the Human Resource Support and Advice Unit (HRSAU) team you will contribute to the provision of a responsive, professional and high quality, customer-focused service to managers and employees across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. You will provide HR support to a diverse range of non-complex employee relations issues including Conduct, Grievance, Capability and Bullying & Harassment and Attendance Management. Of note is that the predominance of workload relates to supporting services with Attendance Management. Ideally you will you have experience of working in a fast paced, multi-unionised environment and managing a high volume HR caseload; particularly supporting absence cases.

  • You will by a member of CIPD and have the minimum of a CIPD Accredited Certificate in People Practice or have equivalent relevant practical Human Resources experience (Employee Relations and / or Attendance Management) in a large complex organisation.
  • You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and pride yourself on providing quality customer service. As well as organisational, time management and prioritisation skills you should demonstrate continual professional development through attendance at Employment Law study days, accessing updates through the Internet and journals.

It is essential that you have knowledge of employment legislation, Human Resources policies and PIN Guidelines. In addition, knowledge of terms and conditions of service relevant to the range of staff groups within the NHS would be beneficial. You will also be confident in using the full range of Microsoft packages and have the ability to access and analyse HR data by utilising databases and HR information management systems.

As this post is agile (combination of on-site support, office, home working) and covers a wide geographic area, a driving licence and use of a car is essential as you may be required to attend meetings at various locations throughout the day or at short-notice.

This is a part time permanent post. You will be required to adopt a flexible approach to your hours of work to meet the needs of the service. Working pattern to be discussed and agreed on appointment.
