The Ice Arena Attendant position provides customer service, general custodial services, operational support, and maintenance for the Ice Arena facility. The nature of the work performed requires the individual to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the supervisor, co-workers, and the general public. Typical duties include performing all tasks related to public skate sessions, including rental skate operations, maintaining order/enforcing rules, providing customer service, addressing injuries, and maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff, patrons and participants by maintaining a visible presence and watching for injuries.

Ice Arena Attendants will be required to work some evenings, weekends and Holidays.

Job Qualifications – Education, experience, and training that are required or desirable in order to effectively perform the job at the time of hire. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements and/or substitutions may be requested and require the approval of HR.

• Must be at least 16 years of age and must be a proficient ice skater.
• Must possess or be able to obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certifications within 90 days of hire date.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities – May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills, and abilities commonly associated with this position.

• Must be highly motivated and able to assume a positive and active role in the facility, even while working under potentially stressful conditions (cold weather, upset or injured participants, etc.).
• Must have the ability to be firm with participants when necessary, enforce rules, and make sound decisions in order to secure the safety and well-being of all visitors, facilities, and equipment.
• Must be able to complete required training.
• Ability to work irregular hours and assume added responsibilities as needed.
• Regular attendance is a necessary and essential job duty.
