RECRUITMENT ANNOUNCEMENT

ACCOUNT CLERK II – INCOME TAX

CITY BUILDING – 30 PARK AVE

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES & REQUIREMENTS:

The city of Oakwood is recruiting to fill a full-time Account Clerk II – Income Tax position in the Finance Department. This recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, mature and dependable individual, with excellent customer service skills.

Reporting directly to the Income Tax Administrator, the individual in this position responds to telephone calls and in-person inquiries regarding the city’s income tax filing requirements; assists with preparing and reviewing taxpayer returns; performs data entry; assists with all other tasks and duties related to municipal income tax collection; and, as necessary, provides back-up to other finance-related positions.

Applicants should:

· have an accounting and tax background; and

· ideally have an associate’s degree in finance or accounting; and

· ideally have prior experience with income tax software; or

· have any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

The position requires knowledge of: the Oakwood income tax ordinance; federal and Ohio tax laws, regulations, and schedules; accounting; skill in general computer operations, specifically Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point and other related software programs; the ability to perform basic mathematical functions. Knowledge of Innovative Software Services City Tax and Software Solutions VIP software is desirable. Accuracy in all work is important.

The successful applicant will be able to maintain a pleasant and courteous demeanor working in a fast paced environment, and be able to communicate effectively with the public and all levels of management.

COMPENSATION:

Current pay range is $19.93/hr to $32.18/hr. Entry rate is contingent upon the applicant’s skills, knowledge and abilities. The city of Oakwood offers an excellent benefit package.
