Position Summary:

Federal Data Systems is looking for a passionate and experienced Information Security Analyst to join our team. This person will always be looking for ways to better secure networks against ever-increasing threats. An Information Security Analyst’s responsibilities include monitoring networks for potential threats, installing software that protects from online vulnerabilities, documenting breaches and reporting issues so they can be adequately handled. Ultimately, the Information Security Analyst will install software such as firewalls to protect computers and monitor networks for any signs of intrusion while maintaining a working knowledge of new threats to cybersecurity.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs.
  • Upgrade systems to enable security software.
  • Install and upgrade antivirus software.
  • Test and evaluate new technology.
  • Perform penetration testing.
  • Analyze IT requirements and provide objective advice on the use of IT security requirements.
  • Gather feedback from end-users to continue improving systems.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Due to the nature of this position and the information that employees will be required to access; U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Candidate must have 1-3 years of Cyber Software or System Vulnerability Analysis and reporting experience.
  • Required Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI + Full Scope Polygraph.
Desired/Preferred Skills:
  • Cybersecurity-relevant analysis experience (basic host and/or network analysis experience).
  • Cybersecurity certification (Sec+, CISSP, Net + etc).
  • Familiarity with Space or Weapons system development, sustainment, and security operations.
  • Experience with Cybersecurity Assessment a plus.
  • Experience in computer network defense, software, and standards used across DoD would be beneficial.
  • Experience in reducing risk to DoD systems, fixing systems of highest importance, hardening systems in development, and crypto resiliency.
Working Conditions:
Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are normally set from Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. Additional details on the precise hours will be informed to the candidate from the Program Manager/Hiring Manager.

Physical Requirements:
May be required to lift and carry items weighting up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday.

Background Screening/Check/Investigation:
Successful Completion of a Background Screening/Check/Investigation will be required as a condition of hire.
