Job Title
Information Technology Support Technician

Job Function
Assist Client Technologies (PC/endpoint computing) full-time staff.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assists with image, configure, deliver, install, move, cable, transport and troubleshooting of PC hardware and approved software.
  • Teardown old equipment and setup new equipment in computer labs, classrooms, offices and public spaces.
  • Assists users with migration from old to new PCs. (including data transfer, transferring internal and external equipment, review new software, etc.)
  • Assists with set up, configuring and troubleshooting college owned printers.
  • Politely and professionally provide user assistance in person or by phone. Readily determine the end users problem and utilize the correct resources to resolve the problem.
  • Utilize a ticketing system for information, tracking, resources management and resolution. Enters clear and complete problem descriptions and resolutions into the ticketing system. Triage the problem and utilize the appropriate resources to resolve the problem within established SLA’s.
  • Maintain accurate PC inventory records and label equipment accurately.
  • Create step-by-step documentation for use by others.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Manager of Client Technologies & Manager of Electronic and Engineering Services. Receives day-to-day direction from the full time Technicians.

SUPERVISION GIVEN: None.

Education
1 year of college majoring in an IT curriculum, with at least 50% of the courses from an IT or management discipline.

Preliminary Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred 1 year experience in configuration and troubleshooting Windows 7, Windows 10, Microsoft Office 2010, 2013, 2016 or Office 365 software on personal computing platform.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must have the ability to perform the responsibilities above with confidence, competency and consistency. Must have the ability to work patiently, professionally, and communicate effectively with all college staff. Must be able to coordinate and complete assigned tasks with little supervision.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands
Work at all campus locations is required with little or no prior notice; reliable transportation is a necessity.

Work Hours
To be scheduled by the department as needed, but not to exceed 25 hours per week. Days and hours may vary and may include evenings and/or weekends.

Salary
$14.43 - $18.55 per hour (2022-23 salary range) Maximum salary upon new hire $14.43 per hour.
