Culver Academies seek to hire an accomplished and enthusiastic educator to teach instrumental music in a student-centered environment beginning with the 2023-2024 school year. Preference will be given to the applicant specializing in strings or brass, though all instrumental backgrounds will be considered. According to the selected candidate’s background and experience, there will be an opportunity to teach courses such as Popular Music in America, AP Music Theory, and other special topics courses. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in music education, performance, composition, or theory.
- Demonstrated outstanding musicianship. • Desire to establish active working relationships with other faculty. • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education and musical activities. • Demonstrated potential for recruitment and program development.
- Minimum of three years of teaching experience at the secondary or college level. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS • Master’s degree in music education, performance, composition, or theory. • Knowledge of characteristics & requirements of marching or military band. The successful candidate will work closely with several other colleagues in a department of full-time and part-time instructors.
