Intermediate - Engineering Technician
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Intermediate – Engineering Technician you will challenge existing methods and drive improvements for higher throughput, higher quality, and improved integration with existing production methods. You will have the opportunity to support cross functional engineering and science teams with hands-on role in the design, development, constructing, and documentation of mechanical and electrical systems from the prototyping/validation stage through implementation/deployment. You will work onsite out of our St. Louis, MO (Creve Coeur) site. This role reports to the of Head Innovation Engineering Development ; Jeffrey Kohne.
The primary responsibilities of this role, Intermediate – Engineering Technician, are to:
Challenge existing methods and drive improvements for higher throughput, higher quality, and improved integration with existing production methods;- Support engineering and science teams researching and constructing innovative solutions;
- Support and influence the design, development, construction, deployment, and testing of mechanical and electrical systems for domestic and international laboratory, production, and agricultural environments;
- Support the startup and functional testing of working prototypes to validate system performance compared to requirements;
- Activities include participating, contributing, and supporting project planning, concept, design, and execution stages, creating engineering drawings/schematics, safety and design risk assessments, prototyping/testing, design reviews, verification & validation;
- Collaborate with internal and external fabrication and part suppliers;
- Collaborate with Safety departments to comply with company and industry safety and design standards;
- Collaborate with matrix team members, support staff, and manufacturing teams in machine/system operation to ensure design is transferable to production sites.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate Degree in Engineering/Science;
- Experience constructing and testing a wide range of equipment and machinery used in automation for manufacturing, agriculture, and laboratory applications;
- Experience constructing and testing electrical and electronic systems, controls, transducer and sensors, digital and analog signal interface, machine power distribution, electrical panel layout and fabrication, motor drives / controllers and components, pneumatics, and hydraulics;
- Working knowledge and application of NFPA 79: Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery;
- Knowledge of PLC and HMI configuring and programming;
- Experience using professional level CAD software;
- Experience using electrical test equipment; digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, process meters, etc;
- Experience using a broad range of fabrication and assembly tools/equipment; hand, power, soldering, cutting, welding, grinding, and drilling;
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks;
- Strong mathematical, verbal, and written communication skills;
- Experience using standard office productivity software; Excel, Word, PowerPoint;
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of time.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 years of experience;
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
