Basic Purpose
Responsibilities
1. Technical Direction
- Quickly learn and maintain functional knowledge of evolving industry technologies, concepts and trends
- Provide technical leadership in the architecture discipline and development of information technology solutions
- Lead, guide and mentor less experienced
- Recommend, develop, and maintain standard operating procedures for supported systems
- Create, review and modify diagrams, schematics and other technical documents and templates
- Apply engineering principles into the design and enhancement of new and existing systems
- Conduct engineering and technical research and make recommendations on proposed solutions; anticipates and adjusts for potential problems
2. Engineering Support
- Perform engineering technology research, procurement, deployment, and configuration for new and modified systems
- Use rigorous logic and methods to investigate and diagnose system and product defects, and collaborate with internal technical teams and vendors for resolution
- Perform engineering tasks and assignments in support of business needs
- Ensure the security and integrity of system and product solutions including compliance with Navy Federal, industry engineering and Information Security principles
3. Analysis and Research
- Investigate operational or business problems and propose solutions
- Ensure compliance with Navy Federal Credit Union ISD standards and best practices
- Perform engineering technology research, procurement, deployment, and configuration for new and modified systems
4. Communication
- Presents consistent, concise, relevant, reliable and timely information
- Ensures accuracy of information to enable effective business decisions
- Present clear, organized and concise information to all audiences through a variety of media to enable effective business decisions
- Seek input from audience; confirms understanding; presents message in different ways to enhance understanding
5. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Microsoft Teams Administration/Configuration
- Microsoft Exchange/M365 Administration
- Administrative experience with Cisco Email Security Appliance or other SMTP gateway security appliances/products
- Experience in utilizing/configuring SPF, DKIM, DMARC
- Fundamental understanding of network and Internet concepts (e.g., firewalls, load balancers, web browsers, TCP/IP, SSL, HTTP, LDAP etc.)
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Powershell
- Working knowledge of ADFS, SAML, AD trust, AD persmissions and AD delegation
- Proficiency in performance monitoring and mail flow troubleshooting
- Log analysis and error resolution
- Ability to read and interpret related system logs, statistics and database queries
- Proven skillset in troubleshooting and resolving issues
- Microsoft Windows, VM and Linux administration
- Comfortable working with all levels of employees; including senior management
- Effective communications skills; written and verbal
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Azure knowledge and experience
- Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Powershell
- Self-starter with proven track record of delivering results
- Demonstrated effectiveness in complex problem solving situations
- Ability to work independently, under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to interface with vendors, customers, clients and other departments and respond to requests both in written and verbal form

Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report on-site 4-16 days each month. The number of days reporting on-site will ultimately be determined by the employee's leadership and business unit needs. You will learn more throughout the hiring and on boarding process.
Salary Range: $85,500 - $146,300 annually
Navy Federal Credit Union assesses market data to establish salary ranges that enable us to remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range, based on your experience, location and market position.
