Location: Green River Distilling Location - Owensboro, KY
Hours: 8:00AM to 5:00PM, Mon – Fri, with the possibility of overtime
Reports to: Senior Director of Information Technology

Job Summary


The IT Manager is responsible for the leadership and coordination of the information technology (IT) services of the Distillery and has primary responsibility for short and long-range planning of the Distilleries technical infrastructure to ensure that it supports current and future programming and communications requirements. The individual in this position provides oversight to the management of the Distilleries computer software systems, servers, and networks, for the implementation and integration of enterprise systems and associated subsystems, and for IT infrastructure and operational support activities as well the to ensure IT systems and people are effective and functioning within the limits of budget, time and specifications of the company.

Job Description/Responsibilities

  • Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security) and evaluate them according to established goals
  • Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management
  • Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
  • Purchase efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and software
  • Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
  • Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management
  • Coordinate and supervise technicians and other professionals to provide guidance
  • Control budget and report on expenditure
  • Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts
  • Provides planning, budgeting, leadership and supervision to the IT department, communicates current and projected needs, requirements and options in the company budgeting process, and recommends acquisitions and updates
  • Coordinates long-range planning activities for the technology infrastructure of the company, including administrative/student information systems, computer networks, personal computers, video systems, and voice communication systems.
  • Evaluates and recommends vendor contracts for hardware, software, and technology related services as needed;
  • Establishes standards for desktop computing, user support services and training.
  • Directs IT support services including remote users, media services, network operations and services, and ensures a prompt, efficient, effective, and client friendly technical support operation
  • Develops information security guidelines and manages implementation, arranges for needed training and staff professional development, and recommends and drafts policy revisions where indicated.
  • Provides project management for technology deployment or implementations
  • Is responsible for assuring the maximum availability and reliability of the company’s technical networks with the resources available
  • Establishes standards for technology hardware, software, and communications protocols.
  • Maintains, reviews, and upgrades as needed the disaster recovery plan for the company’s information recovery services.
  • Works collaboratively with other departments to efficiently implement technical installations and upgrades.
  • Is responsible for ensuring that distillery equipment is used effectively and maintained correctly.
  • Ensure compliance with IT industry regulations.
  • KPI- the role will promote, communicate, and drive KPI goals to the entire distilling team and upper management.
  • Commitment for the Company’s ISO program including the quality and food safety of our products.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science
  • 5 years of IT management experience
  • Certifications are a plus
  • Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
  • Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.
  • Experience in controlling information technology budget
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication abilities

Physical Requirements

  • Physical capability including, but not limited to, the use of hands, standing for long periods, walking all over distillery facilities, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling through the distillery to fix or install equipment
  • Ability to handle exposure to fluctuating temperatures indoors and outdoors
