Job Title: Information Technology Support SpecialistLocation: Information Technology (IT)Job Group: Support Staff, Non-UnionPay Level: ExemptReports To: Information Technology Support CoordinatorSummary: Works under the general oversight of the Information Technology Support Coordinator. Facilitatesaccess to and utilization of information and technology resources for staff and students through the school helpdesk. Provides user support for hardware and software applications.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Provides assistance to technology users through phone calls, walk-ins, or traveling to District locations by: a.Diagnosing and troubleshooting hardware, network, and software problems.b. Installing and upgrading hardware, operating systems, and software programs.c. Communicating with end users during the repair process.d. Maintaining user accounts.2.
Assists the Information Technology Support Coordinator and Department by: a. Maintaining an inventory of computer equipment and software, as needed.b. Providing on-site multi-media production assistance to students, staff, approved outside users, and SchoolBoard members in support of district initiatives and/or approved work.c. Photographs employees and issues new ID cards.d.
Participates and works with IT Department Student Intern program and initiatives.e. Performing other duties as assigned.3. Remains current on career related subject matter by: a. Attending professional meetings and conferences related to information technology subject matter, asrequested.b.
Remaining current with software in use including, but not limited to: the Student Information System,SpedDoc, Microsoft products, library software and other administrative/operational software systems.c. Assisting with school-based technology plans and development.General Responsibilities: The ability to work in a collaborative team environment is essential to the employee'ssuccessful job performance. The ability to work independently and to produce acceptable outcomes in a timelymanner is required. Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule.

Demonstratedexperience and/or training in software, hardware, multimedia presentation tools, and other technology relatedinformation, as well as customer service is essential. Experience in classroom technology, multimedia presentations,or related field helpful.Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information from professional journals and technical documents;the ability to extrapolate relevant information and translate into simple written and/or oral instructions is essential.
Abilityto effectively receive and respond to comments, inquiries, or complaints from students, staff, faculty, and administratorsin various formats (electronic, in-person, written.) Ability to present information clearly and succinctly to others (small tolarge groups) in formal or informal venues and demonstrate effective communication, interpersonal, and organizationalskills is required.Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practicalsituations. Must apply basics of algebra, geometry, and statistics to daily applications.Reasoning Ability: Ability to observe situations, define problems, identify solutions, and assume appropriateresponsibilities within scope of the jobs responsibilities to achieve satisfactory results. Demonstrates a mechanicalaptitude.Other Skills and Abilities: Demonstrates knowledge, competence, and skills in all aspects of current and emerginginformation technology, including telecommunications access, and educational software and hardware.Demonstrates technical competencies in building-based hardware and software including but not limited to: multimedia equipment (LCD projectors, SmartBoards, scanners, digital camcorders, and cameras) all MicrosoftOffice Suite applications, SQL, and Crystal Reports. Demonstrates ability in organizational, human relations, andtraining skills.Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by anemployee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
