The Journeyman Electrician/Mechanic will work in a fast-paced environment and must have the ability to provide exceptional service to our company and employees. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems according to code. They will also be maintaining all production lines, both electrically and mechanically. The ideal candidate has the ability to perform quick response repairs to get production back up and running.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for both electrical and mechanical duties.
  • Responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems according to code
  • Perform daily changeover for production
  • Completes mechanical and electrical connections to distribution system equipment such as transformers, junction boxes, distribution panels, bus bars, outlets, switches, fuses, and circuit breakers
  • Work from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and electrical maintenance and repair manuals to plan and layout the routing, placement, type, size, gauge, load balance of electrical continuity, and safe operation of electrical lines, circuits, systems, equipment, and controls
  • Tests and analyzes utility electrical systems and equipment and isolates area of malfunction using devices such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters and logic probes
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
  • Help develop and conduct preventative and predictive maintenance tasks
  • Interpret drawings, schematics, blueprints, and other documentation of equipment and systems within the plant
  • Responsible for maintaining neat and accurate records
  • Implements necessary safety procedures and safeguards during any given job
  • Must keep work area clean at all times
  • Proactively communicate with departments and outside vendors to ensure proper operation and maintenance of systems and equipment
  • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation
  • Promotes a respectful workplace and is a strong leader/mentor to others in the department
  • Respectfully takes direction from the manager
  • Performs other duties and assignments as directed by management

Qualifications

  • Maintain a State of Idaho Journeyman Electrical License
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years’ job experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required/preferred
  • Must possess mechanical aptitude and knowledge of PLC’s
  • Have knowledge and experience in reading schematics, ladder logic, and P&ID’s
  • Must be experienced or demonstrate knowledge in evaluating and troubleshooting a combination of the following systems; PLC’s, AC/DC drives, Control systems, High voltage, and transformers
  • Be willing to learn and utilize secondary maintenance skills in instrumentation
  • Be willing to work in a true teamwork environment with minimal supervision
  • Be willing to work shift work, as necessary
  • Must have basic tools for job, including electrical testing equipment and basic hand tools
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to work independently
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Must be detail-oriented and set high standards for accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills are required
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of all employee and company information
  • Must be aware of their surroundings at all times
  • Ability to lift a minimum 25 pounds
