How You’ll Help Fulfill the HSHM Mission
Hospitality Services
- Foster relationships with families and individuals who participate in The Junction programs through inclusive and supportive community-building activities
- Nurture volunteer relationships at the Junction and assist in trauma-informed care coaching
- Survey and connect community members and clients to supports and resources
- Manage Welcome Desk, Coffee Bar, and community rooms to ensure professional and courteous response and greeting of clients, volunteers, visitors, and donors
- Warmly answer telephone calls and accurately take down messages for staff
- Interface with social service agencies so as to assist Community Outreach Manager with event and program planning
Community Relations
- Assist Community Outreach Manager in interfacing with community groups and actively promoting The Junction throughout the community through speaking assignments and presentations
- Ensure agency and community events are well advertised and coordinated between staff, volunteers, and clients
Policies and Procedures
- Monitor and enforce policies and procedures to ensure effective and safe provision of Junction services and spaces
- Learn effective operation of all Junction equipment and physical spaces
- Manage confidential information in a secure and sensitive manner
Accountability
- Check client eligibility before distributing resources
- Check building and grounds to ensure safety and security
Lock and secure The Junction rooms and building
- Mission-oriented with values in harmony with those of Home Sweet Home Ministries, Inc.
- Education and/or experience in a human services field
- Able to multi-task and effectively function in a high stress environment
- Able to identify client need and apply agency or community resources to meet that need
- Able to confront or challenge client behavior, as needed
- Demonstrate good written and verbal communication
- Well organized and self-motivated
- Able to set and observe appropriate personal limits and boundaries
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel)
