Dawg Paradise in Westville, IN is adding to our boarding and daycare staff and we’re looking for qualified individuals for the position of Kennel Technician. Ideal candidates will have experience handling dogs outside of the home environment. Kennel technicians will spend their day supervising and working with a group of up to 15 dogs at a time. Light cleaning throughout the day is included. Our kennel techs work up to 9-hour days, up to 5 days per week. Weekends and holidays will be required as well. Kennel Technicians Job Description and Responsibilities:

• Kennel Technicians will work up to a 9-hour shift, up to 5 days per week. Weekends and holidays are required.

• Kennel Technicians are responsible for administering medications and giving subcutaneous injections (insulin or fluids) as well as feeding each dog per owner instructions.

• Kennel Technicians supervise and work with groups of up to 15 dogs per day. You are responsible for the safety and well being of the dogs in your care. You are responsible for keeping them busy and behaving while they are with us.

• The Kennel Technician position does include light cleaning including, but not limited to: scooping poop and cleaning up urine and other messes with a mop, washing windows, wiping down equipment, doing laundry, washing dishes, taking out trash, etc.

• Kennel Technicians are also expected to complete two online training programs. The first must be completed before their 90 days is up.

• The position of Kennel Technician will have you on your feet for up to 9 hours per day and outside in all types of weather (though not for long periods of time). You will get dirty.

• Kennel Technician starting pay depends on experience, but is no less than $11 an hour. You will receive periodic raises based on time and merit. After 90 days, tips are included as well. There are many opportunities for advancement in the company.
