Kitchen Manager

Key Responsibilities to This Job:

  • Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility, and labor costs.
  • Supporting all financial (invoices, reporting) and personnel/payroll related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas.
  • Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances.
  • Responsible for ensuring consistent high quality of food preparation and service. Maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper attire, and appearance standards.
  • Supervise portion control and quantities of preparation to minimize waste. Work closely with kitchen team.
  • Estimate food needs, place orders with distributors, and schedule the delivery of fresh food and supplies
  • Coaches, evaluates, develops, inspires people; sets expectations, recognizes achievements, manages conflict, aligns performance goals with company goals, provides feedback, group leadership; delegates.
  • Can be relied upon to complete tasks, keep promises, and fulfill obligations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen including prep areas, walk ins and additional storage areas
  • Responsible for cleanliness and all repair of the entire kitchen and storage areas
  • Take the lead on making sure that the restaurant is both clean and in compliance with health department standards

Daily Responsibilities

  • Maintain and ensure all daily checklists and forms are completed
  • Ensure CTUIT manager log is read daily
  • Properly checking in orders for quality, accuracy, and missing items
  • Coordinate all daily prep needs with proper systems and checklists
  • Ensure all proper holding and cooling procedures are in place
  • Ensure we are 100% health department compliant
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen
  • Ensure BOH team maintain and execute proper par levels
  • Communicate BOH issues that may affect service and inform FOH team of any shortages in a timely manner
  • Manage shifts which include daily decision making, scheduling, planning while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness
  • Show respect for people (peers, employees; vendors and guests). Promotes an “Open Door Policy” of communication. Sets the standard for appropriate attire and is well groomed. Always presents and represents the company in professional, courteous and respectful manner
  • Floor support operating cash registers, preparing dine in or pick up orders, stocking, assisting with restaurant cleanliness, greeting, and engaging with customers
  • Cash handling including accepting payments, issuing refunds, balancing daily cash and accurately preparing daily deposits
  • Accurately maintain daily in/out punch times and meal breaks. Ensure company and CA compliance
  • Kitchen support either actively working or helping on the hot or cold line
  • Accept vendor food orders and check incoming deliveries for quality. Scan invoices daily and investigate discrepancies
  • Assist with daily time edits and meals breaks
Requirements:
  • 3+ years in a restaurant or hotel kitchen
  • 2+ years of recent experience at the supervisory level
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required
  • Would never compromise on the quality of food they serve/sell
  • A strong desire to increase sales and build relationships in the community
  • Familiar with a variety of technology systems, especially Microsoft Office and able to adapt to new systems quickly.
  • Experience with Plate IQ, Compeat, Paylocity and Toast a plus!
  • On occasion, may be required to lift and carry, push or pull heavy objects up to fifty pounds; kneel, bend or stop, ascend or descend stairs; reach and grasp objects
  • Have knowledge of weighs, measurements, volume and cooking procedures
  • Proof that you are eligible to work in the U.S
  • Spanish speaking a plus
